FOMO NOMO

Welcome to FOMO NOMO

Community Guidelines

Our community exists to answer one question: what is happening next, on or near campus? These standards ensure our feed remains authentic, safe, and spam-free for real student meetups.

1. The Core Standard:

FOMO NOMO is built exclusively for organizing, sharing, and discovering real-time events on or around campus. Every post must represent an authentic, upcoming gathering, activity, or meetup with clear time and location details. Posts that do not represent an actual event clutter the feed and will be removed.

2. Zero Tolerance for Spam & Scams

To keep FOMO NOMO useful, we strictly prohibit:

  • Academic Solicitations: Homework-for-hire, essay writing services, exam leaks, or "do my homework" offers.
  • Unapproved Business & Self-Promotion: Unsolicited promotion of external businesses, paid services, or affiliate links. If you are a local business interested in sponsored posts or official partnerships, please contact us directly.
  • Unregulated Sales & Scalping: Selling tickets, illegal substances, contraband, or unauthorized goods.

3. Safety, Civility & Respect

We strictly enforce a safe, non-threatening environment for all students and campus members:

  • Harassment & Bullying: Targeted abuse, hate speech, body shaming, threats, or call-out posts targeting individuals.
  • Doxxing & Privacy Violations: Sharing private phone numbers, addresses, social security info, or private photos without consent.
  • Sexually Explicit Material: Nudity, pornography, or sexually suggestive solicitations.
  • Dangerous Activities: Organizing activities designed to cause bodily injury, extreme intoxication, or illegal acts.

4. Authenticity & Campus Verification Integrity

Impersonation & Deception

Creating fake profiles, impersonating other students, faculty, or registered campus organizations is strictly forbidden and results in an immediate permanent ban.

Verification Circumvention

Selling, sharing, or bypassing campus .edu email verification to give unauthorized non-students access to private campus feeds is strictly prohibited.

5. Event Host & Attendee Responsibilities

When hosting an event through FOMO NOMO, you are responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful space. Event organizers must provide accurate venue details and adhere to local university, municipal, and state laws. Hosts retain full discretion to remove disruptive individuals from attendee lists using built-in host controls.

6. Moderation, Reporting & Account Penalties

Every post, comment, and user profile features an easily accessible in-app Report option. Our moderation team active reviews flagged content within 24 hours. Depending on severity, policy violations carry progressive penalties:

  • 1. Content Removal: Offending posts or comments are deleted immediately without notice.
  • 2. Account Suspension: Temporary 7-to-30 day lockouts for repeated or moderate violations.
  • 3. Permanent Ban: Zero-tolerance bans for illegal acts, harassment, doxxing, or account spoofing.
